Newtown Soccer Benefit doubleheader

The Connecticut Soccer League is back on CPTV Sports for the spring 2013 season. Our coverage kicked off with a special soccer event played in Newtown May 5. which we'll replay several times in upcoming days.

The Newtown Pride FC, a CSL member, helped host the Newtown Soccer Benefit to support NewtownParentConnection.org, which has helped the Newtown/Sandy Hook community for over 20 years and especially since the Dec. 14 tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

There were two matchups between CSL teams and teams from the Northeast Division of the USL's Premier Development League: SC Prosto of Berlin vs. CFC Azul, a Hamden-based PDL team, and Newtown vs. the PDL's  Boston Rams.

The CSL is governed by the Connecticut State Soccer Association (CSSA) and is affiliated with the United States Adult Soccer Association and the United States Soccer Federation For more on the Connecticut Soccer League, go to ctsoccerleague.com
