Sat. 5/25, 7pm: WNBA LIVE - Sun vs. Liberty

The WNBA's Connecticut Sun, under new coach Anne Donovan, are back on CPTV Sports for the 2013 season! We'll broadcast the regular season opener LIVE Saturday May 25 at 7 p.m. when the Sun host the New York Liberty at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville. 

The first live broadcast was May 11 as the Sun defeated the rival New York Liberty 83-74 in an exhibition game at Mohegan Sun Arena. We'll replay that game several times in upcoming days. We'll show other selected live games this season (check back at cptvsports.org for details).

The first independently owned WNBA franchise, the Connecticut Sun have been one of the most successful teams in the league, advancing to the playoffs nine times in 11 years with two trips to the WNBA Finals. Led by stars Tina Charles, Renee Montgomery, and Kara Lawson, and joined by newcomer Kelly Faris from the 2013 NCAA champion UConn Huskies, the Sun are vying for their first league title. Charles, a two-time national champion at UConn, was on on the gold-medal winning U.S. women's basketball team at the London Olympics last summer.
