CIAC Class LL State High School Baseball Championship – Xavier vs. Pomperaug

MIDDLETOWN- The Pomperaug Panthers scored 2 times in the bottom of the sixth inning to top Xavier, 2-1, and win the Class LL Baseball State Championship, at Palmer Field in Middletown.

Pomperaug's Andrew Clements grounded a single past the shortstop to drive in the go-ahead run, and Pomperaug won their 22nd consecutive game, and first state championship in school history.

Pomperaug was led by pitcher Brett Koiliani, who gave up just 5 hits, had 6 strikeouts, and walked just one batter in the win for the Panthers.

With the win, Pomperaug finished the season as the top ranked team in the state.
